This year, Ms. D and her girls joined us for the Stars & Stripes Festival and fireworks. We had a great time!
Mackenzie went down the big slide all by herself this year. Twice. We love festivals in the summer. One down, many to go!

It all started with a thoughtful gift from my husband and girls…
Friday evening, Todd managed to get a 15 foot, 500 pound Cleveland Pear tree delivered to our home, courtesy of Mr. Tony’s truck and tractor. As it lay across our driveway, awaiting planting, we began plan the perfect spot for such a beautiful tree.
Our [...]

Today, Mackenzie and Delaney had the chance to meet new friends. Todd’s buddy from college has two little girls (and a boy on the way). They took the opportunity to play at a park, and everyone had a good time.

My friend is getting a divorce. It will be final in just a few weeks. It has been a long journey.
Today, I helped her paint the little house she is renting. I looked around in awe of the way it is coming together. She is making this little house a home for her and the [...]

It went down like this…
Kenzie was sitting at the computer. Todd finds a series of clips on Youtube (that come from Disney movies). Kenzie clicks on random clips and sings along with her favorite tunes while we are down there playing with her sister or visiting with guests. Now, I am not fond of this [...]

2008 proved to be a year of challenges. Many would say that they look forward to 2009. As I look back on a year of ups and downs, I look to some of my favorite quotes to reflect what I experienced and learned this year, and what I resolve to do…
JANUARY 2008: “Courage is the [...]

I was reading my neighbor’s blog tonight, and he was expressing his feelings about how life is so hectic, that friendships tend to fall away at times. It got me thinking about what my circle of friends, and how it has changed as I have.
I have always had very few friends. There are people I [...]

Well, the turkey is in the oven. Yikes! I am the crazy person who volunteered to host this year, and so began my first adventure cooking the bird. It is fair to say that my primary objective is to not give anyone salmonella poisoning (which I think I have succeeded in sterilizing my whole kitchen [...]

I am not a proponent of Holiday decorations before Thanksgiving. However, since I despise putting up decorations in the cold, and as long as I want to continue having my hubby work his magic, I will not put up a fuss.
So enjoy our unlighted masterpiece until after Thanksgiving. The compromise was no lights until we [...]
